Perfectionism

You just have to get this one thing just right then...

you'll deserve unconditional love, success, and acceptance

I know, I know, you're not a perfectionist, you just like things done right. But you can manage it, provided everything goes to plan, and everyone does what they are supposed to.

When things go differently than you expected, you scour every detail over and over to figure out what went wrong. You must ensure everything goes right next time.

Going to bed with an incomplete to-do list is inconceivable. What if there is a dish in the sink when you go to bed? How do you feel if you can't finish your work on time? I bet you're cringing just thinking about it.

Aiming for perfect seems like a good idea. You tell yourself that it just means you're doing your best, but you don't ACTUALLY expect that you'll be perfect. Yet, you lie awake at night thinking about what you didn't do. Small mistakes play over and over in your head.

You are very critical of yourself and others, even when no one else is. You've stopped trying new things because doing nothing is better than risking being imperfect.

Sometimes you set impossible standards for those around you too, which hurts the people you care about the most and damages the relationship.

When was the last time you felt truly relaxed and at peace? Let us help let go of the perfectionism and learn to love yourself just as you are.
